Texas Tech powers their way to the championship of the 3rd Annual Surf ‘N Slam Tournament trophy. The Lady Raiders put 95 points on the board against host University of San Diego in the championship game of the 2003 San Diego Surf ‘N Slam. Their average margin of victory over their two tournament games was 30 points.

Penn State Dominates 2nd Annual Surf ‘N Slam. The Lady Lions won the 2002 Surf ‘N Slam tournament by a decisive average margin of 23.5 points. Penn State used a multitude of talent to win the tournament, claiming 4 of the 6 All-Tournament selections. In addition, 17 tournament records were either broken or tied by Lady Lions.

DECEMBER 2001 WOMEN’S PARTICIPANTS & PLACINGS:
Iowa State Claims 1st Surf ‘N Slam Championship. The Cyclones clawed their way back from a significant deficit to defeat host Univ. Of San Diego in overtime, 69-67, and earn the inaugural title of the San Diego Surf ‘N Slam tournament held December 26-31, 2001. It was Iowa State’s second OT victory of the tournament. To earn their way to the championship game they had to get past the Auburn Tigers. Since both teams took unblemished 10-0 records into their meeting, the game promised to be exciting. Iowa State battled back from a late-game seven point deficit to send the game to overtime and win, 80-75. In the consolation game, Auburn defeated Texas-San Antonio, 73-50 to earn third place.
