Yale Captures Paradise Jam Championship

Isaac Celiscar poured in a team-high 23 points, while Nick Townsend added a 21-point, 10-assist, six-rebound performance, as the Yale Bulldogs (6-1) captured the 2025 Paradise Jam championship with a 97-94 win over Akron (5-2) on Monday.

Joining Celiscar and Townsend in double figures for Yale were Riley Fox (14 points) and Trevor Mullin (12 points). Akron’s Tavari Johnson led all player with 35 points.

Yale led by as many as 15 points in the first half, but Akron furiously charged back in the second half, knotting the game with 5:02 to play; however, Yale was able to prevent the Zips from taking the lead, and after Akron pulled to within one with nine seconds to play on a long 3-pointer, Mullin hit a pair of free throws to seal the win for the Bulldogs.

Yale took advantage of its trips to the charity stripe, connecting on 21-of-21 free throw attempts.

The Bulldogs return to action on Sunday, Nov. 30, facing Vermont on the road, while Akron returns home on Saturday, Nov. 29 for a non-conference tilt against Milwaukee.
