Balanced Offensive Effort Leads Elon Past North Dakota

Tamia Watkins scored a team-high 11 points to lead the Elon Phoenix (3-4) to a 65-57 win over North Dakota (1-7) on day two of the 2025 Paradise Jam.

In a game that saw four ties and three lead changes, Elon took a lead at the 5:14 mark of the second quarter and never trailed again, opening up as large as a 12-point (36-24) lead early in the third quarter. North Dakota charged back and was able to tie the game with 2:15 to play in the third, but Elon answered quickly to go ahead and led all the way through the fourth quarter.

Watkins was the only Elon player to reach double figures. UND’s Mackenzie Hughes led all players with 17 points, while Walker Demers added 14 points and 12 boards.

Elon returns to action on Sunday, Dec. 7, traveling to East Carolina; while UND is back in action on Wednesday, Dec. 3, hosting Montana.
