No. 5 Tigers Roll Past Marist
Zakiya Johnson led a group of seven LSU players to reach double figures with a 19-point performance, leading the way as the No. 5 Tigers (5-0) rolled to a 113-53 win over Marist (2-5) on Friday at the Paradise Jam.
With the win, LSU advances to face Washington State in the Reef Division championship on Saturday at 9 p.m., while Marist will play Miami in the third place game at 6:30 p.m.
LSU raced out to a 58-14 halftime lead and never looked back. The Tigers took advantage of a 26-0 run to create separation in the game, and double digit performances by Kate Koval (17 points), Flau’jae Johnson (16 points), Amiya Joyner (16 points), Grace Knox (11 points), Jada Richard (11 points) and Milay Fulwiley (11 points) were too much for Marist to overcome.
Marist was led by a 21-point effort by Justine Henry. Lexie Tarul also reached double figures with 11 points.
